Candiani Denim, Milan

Since 1938, the Candiani family mill in Milan has woven premium denim, combining traditional weaving techniques with modern, resource-saving processes.
Candiani does not sew the jeans; it makes the fabric. We chose it for AGNES SILKA jeans because the quality, structure and comfort of the cloth all matter equally.

What is selvedge?
View
Selvedge (self-edge) denim is woven on traditional, narrow shuttle looms. The edge of the fabric is therefore closed by itself and does not fray, so it needs no finishing. On a turned-up hem this clean edge shows, with its characteristic coloured line. It is a denser denim with more character, and develops its own patina as it is worn.
What is double black?

Denim is made of two sets of yarn: the lengthwise warp and the crosswise weft. In classic black jeans only the warp is black, so it turns greyer after washing. In double black denim both yarns are black, so the colour is deeper and lasts far longer.

Design your own
In six steps you can compose your AGNES SILKA jeans and send them to us with your appointment request. At the consultation we finalise them together, with the fabric samples in hand.
The designer is for illustration: in reality far more can be personalised, from the leg width and length to a different thread colour for each seam.

Chinos and refined cuts
Tailored cut, a different character.
Alongside classic jeans, more refined chino cuts are also available. Measuring and personalisation are the same, but the cut and details give a quieter look: clean lines, slanted pockets, carefully chosen fabrics.
They pair well with a jacket, a shirt or simply a T-shirt, and are made in the same price range as the jeans.

A single visit is enough for the work to begin. We keep your measurements, so for your next piece there is no need to be measured again.

In our Budapest salon we get to know your ideas, your style and your needs, and help you find the right cut and fabric.

Design
Once you have seen the fabric samples, colours and trims, we compose the details of your trousers together.

Measuring and making
Your trousers are made to precise measurements. Making takes 4–6 weeks.

Handover
We hand over the finished piece in our salon, where we also check the cut and the fit.
SILKA Belt
The belt to match. Made to your size.
A made-to-measure leather belt, the natural companion to SILKA Denim. Three leathers – Deluxe, Full Grain and suede –, four buckles, a choice of stitching colour, one or two keepers, and a monogram on the keeper if you wish. Existing clients can also order it from the measurements we already hold.

The price includes every personalised detail: the Candiani fabric and the wash, the metal trims, the leather patch, the threads and the monogram. There are no hidden extras.
Do I need to book an appointment?
We recommend it. When we arrange a time in advance, the consultation is devoted entirely to you: we can look through the fabrics at leisure and take your measurements precisely. You can request an appointment at the bottom of this page, by telephone or on WhatsApp.
How long does it take?
4–6 weeks from measuring to handover.
What is the difference between jeans and chinos?
Both are made within the same Made to Measure system. Jeans are the classic five-pocket style with distinctive stitching; chinos are cleaner, with slanted pockets, often in coloured fabric, for more formal occasions.
Do you make them for women too?
Yes, in cuts for both men and women, with a straight, slim or flared leg.
Do I need to be measured again for my next piece?
No. We keep your measurements, so your next jeans, chinos or belt can be made from them.
Can it be given as a gift?
Yes, with a gift voucher. As the jeans are made to the recipient’s measurements, they choose the fabric and details in the salon themselves.
